2017 Global Nutrition Report

Today, the 2017 Global Nutrition Report was presented to members of Congress. The annual report summarizes progress in meeting Global Nutrition Targets. According to the WHO, the report "acts as a report card on the world’s nutrition—globally, regionally, and country by country—and on efforts to improve it." This year's report finds that nutrition is still a universal problem and identifies five key areas for development in conjunction with the Sustainable Development Goals:

  • sustainable food production
  • infrastructure
  • health systems
  • equity and inclusion
  • peace and stability

The report illustrates how essential nutrition is to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals and the improvement of global health outcomes.
